The Sheffield City Council School Swimming team have pulled together some fun swimming activities for children to complete at home. They include water safety worksheets, a word search and other puzzles created by swimming teachers, videos of some swimming skills that pupils can practice in their own home, and Swim England’s home-school activity sheets. These activities are suitable for children in Year 1 to Year 6. They can colour, spot dangers or even practice their swimming skills in their living room!

The Body Coach Joe Wicks has announced he will be holding daily PE lessons for kids on YouTube to help keep children fit and healthy while they are not at school during the coronavirus pandemic.

Joe made his “exciting announcement” earlier today and said that with all schools now closed after today he was going to become the “nation’s PE teacher”. The 30 minute workout sessions are aimed at “little kids right up to secondary school”. Joe vowed he would get children “moving, feeling energised, positive, optimistic.” Announcing the workouts which will start on Monday at 9am and will be held ever weekday, Joe said: “I’m going to do a live workout called ‘PE With Joe’ on or

The lessons are simply structured, easy to follow and to teach, as well as safe, highly engaging and great fun. You do not need any yoga knowledge or experience to do this. The lessons consist of THREE short animated videos, which you download from the website at the link shown. You can stop, start, freeze, go back, fast forward, when they want…and revisit time after time. They will be learning simple yoga postures, a sequence and a relaxation technique, and the whole family will have fun.

10 Minute Shake Up games
Change4Life and Disney have teamed up again to bring you new Shake Up games inspired by Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2, and Disney's The Lion King and Frozen. These 10-minute bursts of fun will really get your kids moving and count towards the 60 active minutes they need every day!

Another great online physical activity resource for you to try at home.This is a Sheffield based company who we are currently using for our dance curriculum. On their website there are videos which are useful for brain breaks, mindfulness and well-being. Play them and follow along at home.
