Children should arrive at School for 8.40am, where they should go straight to their classroom. Year 3 and 4 children via the right hand side of the gate and year 5 and 6 to the left. Please ensure that your child arrives at school on time. If children arrive after 8.50am they should enter School via the main entrance and register at the School office.

Please ensure that your child does not arrive before 8.40am unless agreement for arriving earlier has been arranged with your child’s class teacher. If children arrive after 8.45am they should enter school via the main entrance and register at the school office. Please ensure that your child arrives on time to avoid a late mark being given.

Children must use the pedestrian walkways. No child should go onto the drive-way and car parking areas. We cannot guarantee the safety of, or accept responsibility for, any child using the latter. It is a very busy main entrance.

Parents are responsible for supervising their own children. Please do not allow them to climb on the school fence and the walls belonging to the properties near the school.

Neither dogs or smoking are permitted within the school grounds.

Unauthorised vehicles do not have the use of the school car park, particularly for “picking up” and “dropping off” children at the start and the end of the school day. We frequently experience problems with the congested area along St. Margaret Avenue at school start and finish and at school functions. There are numerous incidents of the bus being stuck or held up, minor bumps and thoughtless parking across the driveways of our neighbours. The Police have warned and taken action with offenders and we wish to have a friendly relationship with our neighbours. Please park thoughtfully to support the school and neighbourhood in this matter.

Departure

At the end of the school day children will be taken to the main entrance gates by a member of staff, who will oversee the children being met by their parents or carers. Please notify your child’s class teacher or the school office if someone different is col-lecting your child. If arrangements change throughout the day, please contact the school office, who will then inform the appropriate member of staff.

If you would like your child to walk home alone, please collect a form from the School Office as your written permission is necessary.

If your child is not collected, they will be taken back into school, and asked to wait in the school office. A phone call will then be made using the emergency contact details that we have on fill. It is vital that we are notified immediately of any changes to your contact information.

Break and Lunches

We have a 15 minute break mid-morning, at 10.40am and are supervised by three members of teaching staff. Children go outside even if the weather is wet, there please send your child to school with appropriate clothing. In addition, on especially hot days, it is advisable to send your child to school with a hat and apply suntan cream at home.

Lunch times are split into two sittings with children on the second sitting going out to play whilst children on first sitting eat their lunch. Lunch times are supervised by lunchtime supervisors and Sports Coaches.
