School Council

School Council are a group of children from year 3 to year 6. We have two representatives from each year group, who are elected on a yearly basis to represent their peers.

The council meets regularly to discuss issues which are relevant to our school. They represent views of our children, conduct surveys and meet with the Head Teacher, Senior Leadership team, Teachers and Governors.

It is important for us, as a school, to listen to the views of our pupils and take on board areas in which they believe we can improve. The views and opinions of all children matter to us.

When necessary they liaise with Miss Jones and other adults in the school community.

School Council News

Friday 25th April

We were delighted to welcome a very special visitor to school today – Marie Tidball, who came to meet with our School Council. Our pupils had the fantastic opportunity to ask Marie a range of thoughtful questions, from why she chose to become an MP to how she plans to help improve our local community. It was a brilliant chance for them to learn more about democracy, leadership, and the importance of having a voice. The children were great ambassadors for the school. Thank you, Marie Tidball, for coming to see us.

Today , our newly elected School Council members had the incredible opportunity to visit the Town Hall!
They were warmly welcomed by Mr. Keith Dickinson, the Deputy Mayor, who kindly took time to show them around the Council Chambers.
Not only did our children get to see where important town decisions are made, but they also got to try on the mayoral chains!
It was an inspiring experience, and the Deputy Mayor answered all their insightful questions about local government and leadership.
We’re so proud of our School Council for representing us, and we know they’ve come back inspired with lots of ideas to make our school an even better place!
