Year 3 - Home Learning

Summer Term

Hello everyone.

We hope you are well and managing to keep safe and healthy in this period of uncertainty. We want to make it clear that our priorities for the children during the lockdown is not their academic progress but their mental health and wellbeing and we hope you share this view. We appreciate that children are missing out on a valuable part of their education and we want to reassure you that we will do all we can when this situation is over to ensure that children catch up with areas of the curriculum that they have missed.

There is a vast amount of home learning resources available to you, which may be confusing. We have therefore devised a home learning plan for you to use for the week. This will give you a guide and ensure that your child is covering the areas that they need to cover. Please don’t spend too long each day on any one activity: much better to do little and often of each subject, pacing themselves throughout the week.

Please do not worry if they are not able to complete the activities each day.  This is a very difficult time and we understand that children may well be feeling anxious about the impact of Coronavirus. We are also aware that many parents are working from home during these times and families cannot recreate the environment of a classroom. With this in mind, please do not feel pressured into doing more than you feel is appropriate for your family circumstances. Our priority must be to keep our children safe, healthy and as anxiety-free as possible during these unprecedented times.

The home learning for week commencing 25th of May can now be downloaded from the bottom of this page.  We know that some families are in a routine and like the structure that our home learning gives them. However, we are also aware that next week is half term so this is OPTIONAL. Do what you feel is right for your family.

Stay safe. Thinking of you.Mrs Bradwell, Mrs Thompson and Mrs Wilkinson.

Please access the home learning for each week from the files below. Once you have opened the document, you will need to download it and enable editing in order for you to complete the activities. You can also use the Knowledge Mats to help with your child's learning.

Please also check our General Home Learning page for further resources and links to useful home learning websites.
