Year 2 Transition Day

Today the Year 2 children from Royd Infant School came to visit.

The children met with their new teachers and experienced what it is like to be a Year 3 pupil. We started the day with a tour of the school. Afterwards, we played some games which helped us to get to know each other better. Also, each child wrote an adventure narrative which was set on a seaside holiday. In the afternoon the children completed a carousel of activities including: planting a cucumber to grow over the holiday, designing a mini-beast and observational drawing.

Both teachers and children had a fantastic day, and are very excited to start the new term in September. Good luck to all Y2 children who have been set the challenge of growing their own cucumber over the summer holiday!
